A field trip that teaches students how to handle pressure.
My Release Room is South Atlanta's first somatic release experience. A trauma-informed, fully supervised space where students learn to recognize stress in the body and practice releasing it. More than a fun trip. A skill they keep.
Students can't learn
in a dysregulated body.
Stress, trauma, and emotional overload don't stay at home. They walk into your classrooms every morning. And no amount of breathing exercises or sit-down lessons gets the stress out of the body — because stress is a physical experience that needs a physical response.
My Release Room gives students a hands-on, supervised experience that moves the stress response through the body and out. Research shows that boys and girls experience and process stress and trauma differently, and they open up more fully in single-gender spaces. Our programs are designed with that in mind: one for your young men, one for your young women, each built to meet them where they actually are.
Students practice identifying their stress state and choosing a release strategy before the behavior shows up in class.
The session teaches students to notice where stress lives in their body. That awareness is the foundation of every regulation skill.
Designed to complement existing Social-Emotional Learning frameworks. Works alongside counseling and MTSS programming.
Students leave with a language and a toolkit. Not just a memory of a fun trip. The skills transfer directly back into the classroom.
Two programs.
Every student covered.
One program for your young men, one for your young women. Both serve grades 6–8 and 9–12, both are facilitated directly by Dr. Dashia, and both include breathwork, somatic movement, and a full smash and release experience with all safety gear provided.
A single-gender somatic wellness curriculum built specifically for young men. Research shows boys process stress and trauma differently. Groundwork™ creates a space where they can release, regulate, and open up in an environment designed around how they actually experience pressure.

Built by an educator.
For the students she knows.
Dr. Dashia spent over 20 years in Florida and Georgia classrooms. She built Groundwork™ and Release & Rise™ because she watched what happened when students had no physical outlet for the stress they carried, and she knew a sit-down lesson was not going to fix it. She designed each program as a single-gender experience because the research, and her own time in classrooms, made clear that boys and girls need different spaces to truly open up.
Every school session is facilitated directly by Dr. Dashia. Trauma-informed, educator-led, and grounded in 20 years of knowing exactly who is in the room.
